Booking choice: The Natural Pool jeep safari, from $99 per person. Check dates Tour details
The Natural Pool is a well-known spot on Aruba, and easy to misunderstand. It is inside Arikok National Park, at the end of rough tracks that rental cars, ATVs and UTVs cannot use.
That leaves four ways in: a jeep tour, a self-drive 4x4 convoy, a horse, or your own feet.
The quick answer
Take a jeep safari (from $99), a self-drive 4x4 convoy (from $108), the horseback ride (from $155, park fee included) or hike in. UTVs cannot enter the park. Most tours exclude the Arikok fee of about $22 per adult. The pool closes when waves break over the rocks; December to May is the safest bet.

Where is the Natural Pool?
On the east coast of Aruba, inside Arikok National Park, in a basin of volcanic rock that shelters it from the surf.
Locals call it Conchi. The rock wall breaks the waves, so on calm days the water inside is clear and still while the sea crashes just behind you. Reaching the water means climbing down rough rock steps.

How do you get to the Natural Pool?
By guided jeep, by self-drive 4x4 convoy, on horseback or on foot; UTVs and ATVs are not allowed in the park.
| Way in | From | Park fee | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jeep safari | $99 per person | Extra | The cheapest guided way in |
| Self-drive 4x4 convoy | $108 per person | See De Palm | Driving yourself |
| Horseback ride | $155 per person | Included | Riders, beginners welcome |
| UTV + jeep combo | $349 per UTV (2 seats) | Extra | Driving and Conchi in one day |
| Hiking | Free | About $22 per adult | Fit walkers, early starts |

Only in a 4x4: De Palm's safari lets you drive a Land Rover in a guided convoy, but no UTV or ATV may enter the park.
The self-drive safari picks you up at your hotel and puts you behind the wheel of an open 4x4 that seats up to eight. The De Palm tour page lists it for ages 6 and up and not for guests with back or kidney problems or who are pregnant. If you want to drive a UTV as well, the ABC combo pairs UTV driving on the north coast with a truck ride into the park.

Want to drive all the way? The self-drive 4x4 safari puts you at the wheel of a Land Rover.
Explore the self-drive 4x4 safari Tour detailsHow much is the Arikok National Park fee?
About $22 per adult, with children entering free; tickets are sold at the park gates.
That is the gate price Aruba Playbook gives in its September 2026 update; the ABC combo charges $25 per person at check-in. Most jeep and combo tours leave the fee out of the price, so carry a card or cash. The horseback ride is the exception: its listing includes the national park fees.
Can you swim in the Natural Pool?
Yes, when the sea is calm; it closes for swimming whenever waves wash over the rock wall.
Wear water shoes: the rocks are sharp and slippery, and the climb down is steep. Guests describe the water as refreshing but sometimes rough, and one parent said their 10-year-old got nervous until the guides helped. Snorkel gear comes with the jeep tours.

When is the best time to visit the Natural Pool?
December to May gives the best odds of calm water, and mornings are cooler on the exposed east coast.
The sea on this side of the island is rough by nature, so even in good months the pool can close. Book early in your trip so you have a second chance if it does.
Riding there instead? The horseback tour includes the park fee and pickup.

Yes, for most visitors: the drive or ride through Arikok is half the fun, and the pool itself is unlike anywhere else on the island.
The jeep safari rates 5.0 from 9,750 reviews and the horseback ride 4.9 from 1,266. If you also want to drive a UTV, read which UTV tours reach the Natural Pool.
